Start with a truthful page promise
Define who the offer serves, what the visitor will receive, and the next step after submitting. Match the source message to the page and use one primary action. Identify who approves commercial claims and supporting evidence. A page can collect many submissions while attracting requests the team cannot fulfill, so relevance belongs in the workflow from the start.
Collect only useful fields
List the information needed to respond and route the request. Give each field a purpose, an accepted format, and an authoritative destination. Preserve the visitor’s wording where it matters. Separate an inquiry from an optional marketing choice. Use a clear confirmation message that describes the real follow-up rather than treating a button click as proof of completed delivery.
Treat record creation as a separate result
The browser may show success while the CRM update fails. Map the form submission, integration receipt, destination record, duplicate rule, owner assignment, and notification independently. Test a repeated request and a missing required value with synthetic data. Name the person who can reconcile submissions against accepted records and recover an incomplete handoff.
Own the first response
Decide who handles a new inquiry, an existing customer, an irrelevant request, and an exception. Define a backup owner and a realistic response window. Verify that the owner sees source context and the promised next step. Avoid launching a sales sequence just because a record exists; first establish what the person requested and the appropriate response.
Measure quality alongside completion
Track unique usable requests, correctly created or updated records, assignments, and follow-up completion. Keep failed and duplicate submissions visible. Compare a dedicated builder with the existing website and CRM form on the same offer. Choose the route that fixes an observed page or handoff problem without introducing an unowned integration layer.
A landing-page workflow succeeds when a real request reaches an appropriate owner, with the original promise and context intact.
